This unpublished article is the original version of the paper written by John Carter and Pam Johnson describing the Appreciative Inquiry Study conducted with Touche Ross and Company. It was the first nation wide company AI study. It was also the first significant research study conducted on Appreciative Inquiry. The first time it was used as a large group intervention and the first time the data was collected analyzed by the participants. Some of the article was later published in Chapter 14 in the Book by Charles Elliott, Locating the Energy for Change: An Introduction to Appreciative Inquiry. Some correspondence between Charles and John is also included.
